We come to Ceduna in South Australia for the fishing. King George Whiting is what we go fishing for, but Dave also goes squidding & crabbing off the local jetty

Well it's been quite a while since I was over here at LJ. It seems to be slightly different to the last time I was here, but I am sure I'll work it out. Thanks anita_margarita for heading me back this way. A lot of you will remember Dave & I have been "grey nomads" for some time, and I am happy to announce that though we still plan to travel as much as possible, we have decided to take back our home (from our very good housesitters) sometime in April, and actually live like normal people (well for parts of the year any how). By the time we get back home we'll have lived in our home on wheels for 4 1/2 wonderful years. We've had a blast, and still plan to do so, though in shorter bursts. We'll spend part of the year at home, and part of it "on the road". We have decided we now need a base. Our son is getting married to his beautiful fiance in August, and hopefully there will be the patter of tiny feet sometime soon after - so maybe we'll get to play at being grandparents. Neither of us are sure of how we will settle back down, as ever since we retired we've been on the road, so who knows how we'll go being retired and living at home.

It will be lovely to spend more time with our daughter, son & his (soon to be) wife and the rest of our family and friends.

Also, you never know, maybe I'll have more time to wander over here to LJ.......

Look who's having a birthday

"And now.....then end is near......."

In less than 2 weeks the "It's Five O'clock somewhere tour" will be over! Aaaaaw! Talking about "it's 5 o'clock somewhere" Jimmy Buffet is playing in Brisbane very soon - or it may already be over! We had excited phone calls/texts and emails from all over Australia telling David (who is an even bigger JB fan than I am) that there were concerts being held in Australia, with some of them being close to home - Unfortunately David is NOT a fan of live concerts.....go figure!!!

So here are a few pics from the last couple of weeks......I will try to post some of our older pics later on, but for the time being I give you:

This photo was taken at the lovely park at Clarmont where we went to use the internet & mobile phones when we were staying at Theresa Beach Dam:

Theresa Beach Dam: This is a great place to stay - you can camp right on the dam, put your boat in the water & leave it in because it can be right near camp, there are about a dozen large sheds provided for campers, and the best part it only costs $10 per family per night, and you have ammenities, including hot showers!!

Hello......

It's been a while since my last post here on LJ, as we've been travelling through some more remote places the internet is not always available.
On my birthday last month:

My one and only squid catch, off the Haslam Jetty:

The people we stayed with at Streaky Bay own this vintage car, and while we were staying there it was included in both the Fresh food market day, and the opening of the renovated jetty at Smoky Bay:

Only at Smoky Bay (famous for it's oysters) would they use an oyster boat as the stage for the entertainment:

We moved on to Ceduna from Streaky Bay (after a couple of days at Haslam), where we went to the Dawn service on Anzac Day :

Ceduna:

LEST WE FORGET

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

He'll make a great daddy himself one day....Chris with his brand new niece Chloe:
